Project 3: Campaign Posters
Alexis Pedersen
Project Description:
In this project we were tasked with creating three posters for a campaign of our choice. This was a very hard decision for me. I wanted to make sure that the cause I chose also matched my overall design style. After much thought the  campaign I chose was the Save the Bees campaign. This project definitely pushed my out of my comfort zone. Something I wanted to challenge myself with in this project was including details. I feel like many times in my designs/art I focus only on the big picture. Although it took many more hours to include details, I would say overall this is one of the projects I am the most proud of. Enjoy!
Poster 1
In this poster I wanted to illustrate that bees give us more than just honey, they are important factors in everything we consume. to demonstrate this I wanted to show the imagery of the honey. All of these Fruits, veggies and Nuts are all hand designed by me.
Poster 2
I wanted one of the posters I designed to be light, almost girly, yet still eye catching. I think that this design is eye catching because of the bee holding a flower, I feel like this creates a fun design element. To enhance this I wanted the flower the bee was holding to be more saturated than the rest of the flowers. I feel this helps it stand out even more. I kept the general color pallete through this one by making the text yellow, which is the same or similar to the rest of the posters.
Poster 3
This one is the most straight forward, but I would argue the most powerful. the almost monochromatic color palette give you almost no choice but to read the few words on the posters. The bees give it a fun, cute and lighthearted touch. Overall with the dripping honey and the honeycomb, the message in this poster is simple and clear, no bees, no life.
Overall this project has really opened my eyes as to what is acceptable in design. Trying to match the vibe, colors and slogan to a poster is not necessarily easy, however, it made all the difference in my project.

Thank you,
